WHIO-TV Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs bids farewell to broadcast weather

DAYTON — After more than a decade in the Miami Valley, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs is leaving WHIO-TV Channel 7, having decided on a career change.

“Working for WHIO has been a dream come true, but I am ready for the next chapter of my life,” said Vrydaghs.

During her tenure, she successfully tracked a historic tornado outbreak, provided crisis communication during and after this natural disaster, and achieved state and regional recognition for her dedicated service to the community.

“I cannot thank our viewers enough for all the support they’ve given me throughout the years,” said Vrydaghs

Vrydaghs has a well-known passion for the environment and will continue to lead and educate in her new role with the nonprofit, Keep America Beautiful.

“Weather, climate, and environmental restoration have always been a passion of mine. I cannot wait to work with communities across the country to help ensure they can live in a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment,” explained Vrydaghs.

Vrydaghs’ final broadcast on WHIO-TV will be Friday, May 26.
