State troopers have identified the pilot injured in a plane crash in Miami County.

The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) has identified the pilot as 49-year-old Troy Hahn.
As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, a medical helicopter transported him to Miami Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
An initial OSHP investigation says that a single-engine Bellanca 7ECA hit a tree while approaching the runway, according to OSHP.
Medics transported two 6-year-old passengers to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the crash, OSHP said.

A pilot was critically injured after a small plane crashed in Miami County on Wednesday.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak and 11, Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) troopers and Tipp City medics responded at 9:30 p.m. to a plane crash near the 3300 block of Monroe-Concord Road in Monroe Township.
When firefighters arrived, they found a single-engine aircraft 100 yards off the road in a soybean field, according to Tipp City Fire Chief Adam Howard.

Medics got to the plane and determined the male was critically injured. They extricated him from the cockpit.
Two juveniles were on board the plane at the time of the crash. They exited the aircraft and were found along the road. Medics transported them to a local hospital, Chief Howard said.
A medical helicopter arrived and transported the pilot to Miami Valley Hospital in critical condition.
Sgt. Austin Klemen told our news crew that the plane was trying to land on a landing strip when it hit a tree and crashed.
“It looks like he was coming from the northeast to the southwest on a landing attempt,” he said.
The Miami County Special Operations Response Teams (SORT) Chief and Miami County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) were requested due to leaking fuel from the plane.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were notified of the crash. They will conduct an official investigation of the crash, Chief Howard stated.
