3 suspects in Clark County police chase get away

Multiple suspects at large after police chase in Clark County Clark County Sheriff’s deputies began pursuing a stolen vehicle around 8:30 p.m., according to Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Troutman.

CLARK COUNTY — Three suspects got away after a police chase in Clark County on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

A sergeant with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office tried to stop a stolen Hyundai Sonata at Mitchell Boulevard and Miracle Mile around 8:30 p.m.

The spokesperson said authorities believe this car was used in a shooting in Springfield the night before.

The car didn’t stop, and a chase began.

The sergeant was the only law enforcement officer chasing the car, but other deputies and Springfield police officers were heading to the area to help, the spokesperson said.

A few minutes later, the suspects crashed at the dead end of W Leffel Lane.

Three suspects got out of the cars and ran into the woods.

The spokesperson said authorities conducted a search and used a thermal-equipped drone, but the suspects weren’t found.

Deputies started leaving the scene around 10 p.m.

Springfield police took possession of the car as evidence in the shooting the night before, the spokesperson added.

No law enforcement personnel were injured and no property was damaged.
