Fire temporarily closes restaurant at Mills Park Hotel in Yellow Springs; hotel to remain open

YELLOW SPRINGS — The restaurant inside the Mills Park Hotel in Yellow Springs will be temporarily closed following a fire on Wednesday morning.

Crews were dispatched around 6:54 a.m. to the hotel at 321 Xenia Ave on reports of a fire, according to a Greene County Dispatcher.

In an update shared on social media, hotel staff said there was a “small kitchen fire” at the hotel’s restaurant, Ellie’s.

The fire was quickly contained by the hotel’s fire suppression system and first responders from the Miami Township Fire Rescue.

“We’re grateful to report that everyone is safe and there was no damage to guest rooms or the rest of the property,” the hotel shared.

The restaurant will remain closed for the day, but is expected to reopen tomorrow.

The hotel remains fully open and operational.
