HARRISON TWP. — UPDATE @ 7:00 A.M.
A person is dead after an attempted break-in turned into a shooting in Montgomery County early Wednesday.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, deputies responded at 2:15 a.m. to the 2400 block of Fairport Avenue to a report of an attempted burglary.
It was upgraded to a shooting, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found a male shot inside a home.
They attempted life-saving measures, but he died from his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
A female homeowner called the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center (RDC) to report the incident.
Our news crew reports that an investigator with the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.
They have since left.
Sheriff’s deputies have also left the scene.
