Today in 1963, EMI Records announces advance sales for The Beatles’ coming single at half a million, and it’s for the single “She Loves You.” Now, when you think about it, in these days, I don’t even think we get those kind of advance orders in this day and age and this was 1963.
Then we take a look at the calendar today a rock birthday on it, Blues icon John Lee Hooker. John Lee certainly influenced a lot of bands from The Doors to ZZ Top. You can definitely hear it in that blues shuffle and that growl that he had the how how how and also of course he was one of the guests in The Blues Brothers movie.
