The Powerball® jackpot has been won in Ohio! A single ticket sold in Ohio matched all six numbers drawn to win a jackpot worth $139.3 million. The jackpot has a cash value of $66.5 million.

The winning numbers in the Wednesday, July 3 Powerball drawing were white balls 02, 26, 33, 55, 57 and red Powerball 22. The Power Play® multiplier was 2X.

This was the fifth time the Powerball jackpot has been won this year. The Powerball jackpot was previously hit on June 10 in New Jersey by a ticket that won a $222.6 million jackpot.

The lucky ticket holder in Ohio will have the choice between an annuitized prize of $139.3 million or a lump sum payment of $66.5 million. Both prize options are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5-percent each year.

Nick’s take: A local winner in the Miami Valley is incredible. If you don’t usually play, does having a local winner change your mind?
