Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” named biggest song of all time

By Forbes Magazine

You’ve heard the song thousands of times. The song is an 18x Platinum single...it’s been in countless movies, played at pretty much every sporting event for the last 40 years, it was even sung by Tom Cruise in the movie “Rock of Ages”, and helped wrap up the story of The Sopranos. And now, Forbes has recognized “Don’t Stop Believin'” as the BIGGEST SONG OF ALL TIME!

When Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey peaked in 1981 at #9 on the Billboard Chart it was considered a great success, but the song didn’t shake anything up at that time. In fact, at the end of the year it didn’t even rank in the Top 50 in the end of year charts. (From 1981 or 1982 since the song was released later in the year.)

What’s fascinating to me is that the song got bigger and bigger decades later and has been one of the most downloaded and streamed songs of all time. Now Forbes Magazine called it the “Biggest song of all time.” What an incredible honor.
