Michigan woman, 103, gets first tattoo

MUSKEGON, Mich. — You’re never too old to get a tattoo.

A 103-year-old woman from Michigan decided to get some ink on her forearm this past week, WZZM reported.

Dorothy Pollack sat patiently while a tattoo artist in Muskegon inked a little green frog on her forearm, the television station reported.

Pollack’s family said the tattoo artist at A.W.O.L. Custom Tattooing did the design for free, WZZM reported. Pollack also was the oldest person he has ever tattooed, the television station reported.

And after that, Pollack took her first motorcycle ride.

“Go Granny Go; it’s never too late to make those memories or try something new.” Teresa Gomez Zavitz-Jones wrote in a Facebook post. “103 years, 1 month, 1 week and 3 days old. First tattoo and first motorcycle ride on the same day. Live your best life, baby.”

Pollack, whose younger sister recently celebrated her 100th birthday, told WZZM that the key to living a long life is keeping busy.

“I guess hard work,” she told the television station in June. “That’s all I ever knew what to do.”
