But how bad can an itty bitty version of the “harmless thing” that Ray Stantz “loved from ... childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy” the Ghostbusters possibly be?

The latest incarnation, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” stars Paul Rudd and is set 30 years after the first set of movies.

It follows Carrie Coon’s character Callie, who moves to a small town in Oklahoma with her kids Phoebe and Trevor, played by Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfard, to a home that was left behind by her father who had passed away, People magazine reported.

The movie’s first trailer led viewers to believe the grandfather is Egon Spengler after a Ghostbuster jumpsuit is seen hanging in a lab. Spengler was played by the late Harold Ramis.

The children find ghost hunting equipment like a P.K.E. meter and a ghost trap and start to delve into what happened in Manhattan in 1984 from Rudd’s Mr. Grooberson’s who experienced the ghost infestation first hand, People magazine reported.

The film, which will be released in November, also stars Annie Potts and Ernie Hudson, IGN reported. According to IMDB, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver will also appear. It was originally slated to be released last year, but the coronavirus pandemic delayed its release, CNet reported.
