MIAMI VALLEY — About a month ago a man paid for $4,000 worth of food, drinks for complete strangers at the Beavercreek Dunkin’ and now his actions inspired the company to do something similar.

“This program was inspired by an anonymous customer in Dayton who gave $4,000 in gift cards to Pay It Forward to his community last month,” a company spokesperson said. “He wanted to spread kindness during these trying times and his generous donation lasted more than 18 hours and paid for more than 300 customer orders.”

So what is Dunkin’ doing?

The company is donating 40,000 gift cards worth $200,000 to various hospitals across the Midwest for frontline workers.

In addition to that, at each Dayton-area Dunkin’ a random customer on April 28 will receive free coffee for a year. The winner at each restaurant will be picked between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
