DAYTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT — The 2026 CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show came to a soggy end on Sunday.

As reported on News Center 7 at 6:00, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels cancelled their performance due to the weather.

News Center 7’s Malik Patterson said that organizers met before deciding to officially cancel the show.
Volunteers started to clean up and take things down.
The doors opened at 9 a.m. on Sunday. But people were in line starting at 5:30 a.m.
It’s a family tradition for some, and they wanted to get a front row seat.
Over 90 percent of the performers got their shows in. It was warm, humid, and breezy for most of the morning into the early afternoon.
Patterson said that the rain did not start coming down until around 3 p.m. As everyone waited for the official word, people were encouraged to seek shelter.
Ken Kreitzer, media relations with the CenterPoint Dayton Air Show, told Patterson why they decided to cancel.
“We were afraid that if we started performing, people would want to stay,” he said. “There’s some lightning in the area; the winds are strong. We just want everybody to be safe.”
Next year’s air show is scheduled for June 26-27.
