He turned out to be her father, who she hadn't seen in 20 years.
Shoshannah Hensley was working as a cashier when a customer approached her in the checkout line.
"As far as I knew he was just another gentleman on the streets coming in," she told WPXI.
Then the man handed her his food stamp card.
"He asked me what his balance was and I saw the name and my heart dropped," Hensley said. "I said, 'What's your middle name,' and he goes, 'Eugene.' And I hit my knees and said, 'You're my biological father. I've been searching for you for over 20 years."
Brian Eugene Hensley Sr. was just as amazed.
"We both started shaking like 'Oh My God.'"
"I never thought the day would come," Shoshannah said. "I never thought I would get the chance just to see what he looked like."
Brian said he won't let her out of his life again.
"I'm gonna be there in every way, whatever it takes," he said.
Shoshannah wants to keep her dad in her life too. She said she plans to invite him to get off the streets and live with her.
