It’s all about women and wine Friday night at the Dayton Art Institute.

The popular Vine & Canvas wine tasting series is back this Friday with a special Women and Wine night.

Attendees get to sample five different wines while they work on their masterpieces. All the wines at Friday’s event are produced at vineyards ran by women.

Fittingly, this summer’s special expedition at the museum is Ubuhle Women: Beadwork and the Art of Independence, which will be open to explore during the event.

>> This popular restaurant you drove miles for is closing this weekend

According to the Art Institute’s website, the exhibition “showcases a new form of bead art, the ndwango (“cloth”), developed by a community of women living and working together in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.”

>> 16 wine places to know and love in the Dayton area and nearby

To help facilitate the event, local artists Marsha Pippenger and Amy Deal will make an appearance to share their passions and discuss their work.

>> Barry Bagels to open first Dayton-area bagel shop

So if you’re looking to make girl’s night a little extra special this weekend, this event is calling your name!
