Scorpions ‘Wind of Change’ box will include a most unusual artifact

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Scorpions’ big hit “Wind of Change,” the band is including something rather unique in an upcoming limited release.

The Wind of Change box will be limited to 2020 copies and feature five different versions of the song. It will include both compact disc and vinyl, a handwritten lyric sheet by singer/songwriter Klaus Meine, a hardcover book with photos and details about the song, and an actual piece of the Berlin Wall.

The 1991 ballad reflected the many changes happening in communist countries like Germany and the U.S.S.R during the era. The Berlin Wall would eventually fall in November of 1991. You can check out the video below. The “Wind of Change” box can be ordered here.

And no, the rumor is not true that “Wind of Change” was written by the CIA in an effort to break the communist chains of eastern Europe. Meine debunked the notion during a podcast series earlier this year.
