“Save Our Stages” Act Passes!

NIVA & Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) say “Thank you” to all the supporters!

The live music industry was hurt very badly in 2020. Many live music venues have been shut down for months or closed completely due to COVID-19. The second COVID-19 relief package that was recently passed and signed by President Trump contained the “Save Our Stages” Act. Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) was one of the most outspoken supporters of the act and says thank you to all of the supporters.

The relief bill set aside $15 Billion to help live venues and other independent arts/entertainment businesses.

NIVA (National Independent Venue Association) was formed in 2020. They encouraged all music lovers to write politicians. They asked us to explain how important live venues are to us and that they will need financial assistance to stay in business. NIVA put on the #SaveOurStages virtual festival to raise awareness and featured Foo Fighters at the famous Troubadour in Los Angeles.

2.1 million emails were sent to elected officials in support of the Save Our Stages Act, according to the NIVA website. The site has also created a “thank you” letter that can be sent to your Senators and Representatives.

You can still donate to the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund.

Here’s hoping we see you at a LIVE show very soon!
