Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame, You’re Drunk Go Home

The Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame announced it’s class for 2020. I am to say the least, disappointed.

The Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame is no stranger to controversy.

People have often disagreed with their choices of inductees.

To be honest, that isn’t a surprise at all.

Make a list of the best guitarist, singer, drummer, bassist, keyboardist, horn player or anything, and somebody will disagree.

In the past I have defended some of the Hall’s controversial choices.

I defended them because I read the criteria that went into hall nominees and inductees.

I could see the influence of some of these artists that maybe others didn’t see.

But the class of 2020 has me scratching my head and letting loose a bunch of words not fit for broadcast.

It isn’t all about who they’re inducting, although Whitney Houston, Depeche Mode, The Notorious B.I.G. and Nine Inch Nails don’t belong in my opinion.

They just aren’t Rock N’ Roll or have influenced it in my opinion.

It’s also about who they didn’t induct who were nominated, Long Island’s own Pat Benatar, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Thin Lizzy and Todd Rundgren.

I can’t understand the thinking here.

Even if it’s about influence, I’m sure if you ask every female rock singer today who influenced them more Pat Benatar or Whitney Houston, Pat would surely get a significantly larger share of the vote.

How do you put Depeche Mode into the hall ahead of Motorhead when the word “Rock” is part of the Hall’s name.

See the Rock Hall Class of 2020 in it’s entirety below.

What do you think?

Let me know if you agree or not.
