An iPhone feature helped a mother track her daughter when she was kidnapped Tuesday.

Pennsylvania State Police were "notified by the victim's mother that her daughter had been taken against her will by her ex-boyfriend."

The ex-boyfriend was identified as Joseph Boller. According to WCAU, 18-year-old Boller met with his ex-girlfriend in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, to discuss custody of a child.

Police said Boller taped his ex-girlfriend's hands, feet and mouth with duct tape and forced her into a vehicle trunk.

The victim texted her mother for help and her mother notified police, according to NBC News.

Boller drove from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, to Milesburg, Pennsylvania, stopping at a near by McDonald's, police said.

The victim's mother used the "Find My iPhone" app to locate her daughter.

"We use technology in the course of our investigations, but in this case, that application on her cellphone was very helpful in determining where actually she was located," Trooper Jeff Petucci told WYAJ. "That made it quite easy for our troopers then to locate the vehicle, because we knew it was in that general vicinity."

Those who want to know how to use the "Find My iPhone" feature can access the app on their phones. As long as you know the iPhone user's Apple ID and password, you can track his or her iPhone.

Boller had his bail set at $150,000 and is in the Centre County Correctional Facility. He has a preliminary hearing Feb. 24.
