One California man had a very good day after winning the lottery not once, but twice.

Rodney Meadows was out running errands in Modesto, California on Nov. 23 when he decided to pick up some scratch off lottery tickets at a convenience store.

Meadows won $1,000 on the first ticket he bought, so he decided to try his luck again and purchased a few more tickets.

That’s when Meadows scratched off the big winner — $10 million.

Meadows was in such disbelief that he had the store manager check the ticket twice to make sure he was seeing the numbers correctly.

“I could not believe it. I had to ask the clerk at the store, and he said, ‘You better check it again on the machine,’” Meadows told lottery officials.

Lottery spokesman Greg Parashak said the chances of a person winning the top prize was a 1-in-3-million chance.

But Meadows was no stranger to winning. He had won $1,000 on two tickets in the past.

Meadows told lottery officials he hadn't yet decided what he would do with the cash.
