Kanye West apparently was not joking when he went on stage at the Grammys

On Sunday night, we thought Kanye West had grown up. We thought he’d gotten a sense of humor.

When Beck beat Beyonce for the Album of the Year award, Yeezy seemed to go on stage and take the mic. Everyone was scared for a second, but then laughed — even Jay and Bey in the crowd. That Kanye! Look at him, poking fun at himself.

But we were all fooled because on E!’s "after party" special, the old, caps-lock-loving Kanye returned.

“If they want real artists to come back, they need to quit playin’ with us. ... Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce. ... We not playin’ with them no more.”

Kanye then started going on about how E! shouldn’t have its logo on its microphones.

“E! E! E! E! We have to step up the taste level on all networks. ... We have to keep complimenting that from the people who produce these shows. ... The Kardashians wouldn’t be famous if beauty wasn’t important. Eyes. The eyes. Take these off right now.”

On the bright side, Taylor Swift and Kanye seemed to reconnect and let bygones be bygones Sunday night.

You know what they say: When one Kanye controversy closes, another one begins instantly.
